Industry veterans Azhar Jameeli and Kendall Young form senior housing investment firm SlateView Capital, and close on first transaction with plans to deploy approximately $500 million over the next 24 months

ALISO VIEJO, Calif. — August 13, 2026 — SlateView Capital (“SlateView”), a newly formed real estate investment firm focused exclusively on senior housing, today publicly announced the launch of its investment platform and the acquisition of Meadowbrook at Agoura Hills, a 156-unit assisted living and memory care community in Agoura Hills, California. Founded by senior housing industry veterans Azhar Jameeli and Kendall Young, SlateView brings more than $20 billion of transaction experience spanning investments, asset management, operations and capital markets across public and private institutional investment platforms.
The acquisition of Meadowbrook represents SlateView’s first investment and the beginning of a broader strategy to acquire senior housing communities in high-barrier-to-entry markets throughout the United States.
“SlateView was created around a simple premise: senior housing is an operating business wrapped in real estate, and successful investing in the sector requires a deep understanding of both,” said Azhar Jameeli, Managing Partner of SlateView Capital. “Kendall and I have spent the past 16 years investing in, operating and repositioning senior housing across multiple market cycles, and we believe the opportunity in front of the sector today is particularly compelling.”
SlateView believes senior housing is benefiting from a favorable long-term supply and demand environment, driven by an aging population, limited new construction and an increasing need for high-quality senior living communities. At the same time, many existing assets require new capital, refreshed positioning and more active ownership to remain competitive. “Our focus is on fundamentally strong real estate in markets with meaningful barriers to new supply, where we can combine strategic capital investment with active asset management and strong operating partnerships and alignment,” Jameeli added. “We are not looking simply to own senior housing. We want to improve the communities we acquire and create environments where residents, employees and operators can thrive.”
Meadowbrook at Agoura Hills
Located in the affluent Agoura Hills market northwest of Los Angeles, Meadowbrook is a 156-unit assisted living and memory care community. SlateView plans a significant reinvestment in the property, including renovations to resident units, common areas and amenity spaces, together with operational, programming and branding enhancements designed to elevate the resident experience and strengthen the community’s competitive position.
“Meadowbrook has many of the characteristics we look for in an investment — an exceptional market, high-quality real estate and an opportunity to create significant value through thoughtful reinvestment and active ownership,” said Kendall Young, Managing Partner of SlateView Capital. “We see an opportunity to meaningfully enhance the physical environment and overall resident experience while positioning the community for long-term success.”
Prior to forming SlateView, Jameeli held senior investment roles at institutional real estate investment platforms including Healthpeak Properties and IRA Capital, where he led or participated in billions of dollars of senior housing investments and helped build and oversee large-scale senior living portfolios. Spanning a career of over 40 years at major institutional real estate companies, including GE Capital and Merrill Lynch, Young most recently served as Chief Executive Officer of NorthStar Healthcare REIT, a public non-traded healthcare REIT, where he repositioned and restructured a substantial institutional healthcare real estate portfolio which was ultimately sold to Welltower in June 2025. Prior to NorthStar Healthcare, Young was an Executive Vice President and Head of Senior Housing for Healthpeak Properties, responsible for all aspects of the company’s 500+ property senior housing portfolio.
Significant Growth Plans
Meadowbrook is the first of several investments SlateView expects to complete as it builds its senior housing platform. The firm is scheduled to close on another significant acquisition and has an active and robust pipeline of additional opportunities.
“We are building SlateView for the long term,” Jameeli said. “Meadowbrook is our first closing, but it is very much the beginning. We have substantial capital behind us, another transaction approaching closing and a strong pipeline of opportunities. Our goal is to deploy approximately $500 million over the next two years while remaining highly selective about where and how we invest.”
